What Makes Us Special
Social Day Cruising isn't just about sailing—it's about building a community. We bring together sailors of all skill levels for weekly adventures on beautiful Lac Deschênes. From complete beginners to salty sea dogs, everyone's welcome!
The Season
We sail from late May through September, with weekly cruises that last 3-4 hours. After each sail, we gather on the club deck to swap stories, share laughs, and plan the next adventure. Saturdays are extra special with raft-ups and potluck gatherings—bring your favorite dish and meet the whole crew!
What to Bring
- Your best smile and positive attitude
- Closed-toe, non-slip shoes (safety first!)
- Hat, sunscreen, and shades
- Water bottle to stay hydrated
- Clothes for the weather
- PFD if you have one (we'll provide if not)
Meeting Up
When: 12:45 PM sharp at the blue tent on the west lawn
Pro Tip: Be on time! Late arrivals might miss the boat (literally). Grab your ticket when you arrive—no ticket, no sail!
The Rules of the Water
Fair Play Priority
To keep things fair for everyone, we use a smart priority system:
- NSC members get first dibs
- New faces get priority when it's crowded
- Show up consistently = better standing
- No-shows = lower priority next time
Waitlist? No Problem!
Event full? Join the waitlist! We update spots in real-time until 10:00 AM on event day. You can also show up as standby—we often have last-minute openings!
Weather Check
We sail rain or shine... well, mostly! We only cancel for unsafe stuff like lightning, crazy winds, or bad air quality. Our coordinator checks in with skippers every morning, and you'll get an email ASAP if plans change.
